About Colibri
Colibri is the Spanish word for hummingbird — to some, a sign of good luck. We're here to serve the Bay Area community and support artists across our region, new and experienced alike.
Colibri Pottery Studio is a welcoming place for parents, families, and anyone of any age to enjoy ceramic painting and pottery. We’ve worked hard to build an environment where the arts community can thrive — and where people can make new friends, reconnect with themselves, and experience the joy of creating. Colibri Pottery Studio is a minority woman-owned business.
Our founder
“Hi, my name is Reyna. I grew up visiting my grandmother after school and making traditional Mexican-style pottery with her — those memories shaped my love for clay and creativity. I later earned my degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Texas, and although I paused pottery during college, that creative spark never went away.
I’m married to my best friend, Ricardo, and we have three wonderful children. In 2016 I earned my MBA in Germany from the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, which gave me the chance to travel, learn, and connect with people from all over the world.
My career led me into tech, where I worked as a technical recruiter at Amazon and later at Meta, supporting teams focused on AI and machine learning. I loved my time in tech, but after being affected by layoffs I returned to my creative roots and founded Colibri Pottery Studio.
Colibri was born out of my passion for creating art, building community, and sharing space with people from all walks of life. What started as a small idea has grown into something truly special.”
